Mira
visibility sensor
3544 is a forward scatter sensor.
Mira visibility sensor is designed for
low range (0-3000m) and for detecting fog and haze at road, airports,
harbour installations and observing systems at sea. It has also turned
out to work well in tunnels. Mira
is compact and small and light. |

WEATHER INC. United States of America |
AWI repeatedly sets the pace in the weather information industry with such firsts as the 8364-E Forward Scatter Visibility Sensor, the only forward scatter visibility sensor with four sensor heads. The system features a patented architecture with four sensors heads that measure both direct and scattered optical energy. This ensures that accurate measurements are made independent of the effects of the environment. Unlike traditional two head sensors that only measure fog, snow, and rain, the 83674-E can measure fog, snow, rain, haze, smoke, dust, and sand. |

Belfort Instrument
company United States of America |
The Belfort Model 6000 Visibility Sensor is designed to monitor visibility conditions over a range of 0-50 miles (0-80 km). The Model 6000 includes both analog and digital outputs. Analog output ranges of 0-1, 0-5 or 0-10 volts and 4-20 mA are available. Also included are alarm outputs, which can be adjusted to alarm at user preset visibility thresholds. Two alarm channels are standard, making it possible to indicate Good/Medium/Poor Visibility by setting the appropriate thresholds. Digital RS232 and RS485 output at 300-38,400 Baud can be used to indicate the present visibility and provide diagnostic information. |

CAMPBELL SCIENTIFIC LTD.
|
Campbell Scientific’s PWS100 visibility and present weather sensor offers visibility readings of up to 10km with an accuracy of ± 10%. The model uses a unique laser-based system with 4 light sheets and two receptors to measure both the size and velocity of a hydrometeor falling though the measurement volume. |

CLIMATRONICS
United States of America |
Climatronics Corporation manufactures a complete line of
meteorological instruments and systems for all applications. We offer as part of
our integrated systems visibility sensors that measure atmospheric visibility,
also known as meteorological optical range (MOR), by determining the amount of
light scattered by particles (smoke, dust, haze, fog, rain, & snow) in the air
that passes through the optical sample volume. A 42-degree forward scatter angle
is used to ensure performance over a wide range of particle sizes. Performance in all weather conditions was a design prerequisite for the visibility sensors we offer, with an integrated, one-piece housing design keeping all cabling internal to the sensor for the ultimate protection against the elements. All power and signal lines are protected with surge and EMI filtering to help guarantee uninterrupted service for the life of the sensor. |

JENOPTIK Laser, Optik,
Systeme GmbH. Germany |
JENOPTIK Laser, Optik,
Systeme GmbH develops and manufactures optoelectronic laser sensors for
reliable and cost-effective measurements in meteorological, industrial
and military applications. The VS 500 visibility sensor measures horizontal visibility along traffic routes. Unlike commonly used forward scattering sensors, the VS 500 is a compact LIDAR sensor sampling air paths up to 50m and providing a cost effective solution for visibility determination. The performance of the VS 500 prototype was positive reviewed in comparison with other sensors in a long-term test initiated by the German Federal Highway Research Institute (BAST). Other meteorological products include LIDAR sensors for cloud altitudes and aerosol distributions up to 50.000 ft as well as sensors for snow depth and water level detection. |

EZ Cloud & Aerosol
Lidar, a LIDAR dedicated to cloud and aerosol monitoring. • Aerosols and clouds layering • Base and top of clouds (if penetrable) • Optical properties of aerosols layers, low clouds and subvisible cirrus clouds • Global tracking of large scale dust transport • Water vapour profiles (mixing ratio) • Visibility factor in remote areas. |
| LOGOTRONIC GmbH Austria |
Logotronic
supplies a big variety of measuring stations. Small ones, stationary
or mobile up to synoptic weather stations. The stations are highly
scalable to the user requirements due to the modular system
architecture. One measuring station for meteorology, hydrology, water
quality and soil investigation. Nearly all common sensors can be
connected via measuring interface modules. All stations can use
telemetry modules for telephone, GSM, radio or Internet data transfer. Please go to: http://www.logotronic.at/en/products/sensors-meteorology/visibility/125.htm |

MEISEI ELECTRIC
CO. LTD. |
Meisei's sophisticated visibility sensor DMV-2000 is highly accurate, cost effective and intelligent sensors that measure visibility in severe weather conditions. It logs, stores, processes and transmits the measured data to external devices for control and display purpose. Meisei's mm-wave radar detects obstacles in all weather conditions. It can send alerts to warn of dangers such as vehicle collisions. |

| VAISALA
OYJ
Finland |
Vaisala visibility sensors are used at airports, roads, harbours and in
various types of automatic weather stations. Vaisala visibility sensors
are based either on measuring the direct transmission of a light beam
(transmissometers) or measuring the scattering of light (forward and
backscatter sensors). Read more about Vaisala visibility sensors |
