Campbell Scientific (Canada) Corporation
Canada

dataloggers@campbellsci.ca

Leaf wetness sensors are classified as:
- Surface contact types that measure the electrical resistance of a water film on the leaf surface,
- Mechanical types that detect a change in sensor length or weight, or
- Electrical resistance types that are applied to mock leaves and are designed to emulate periods of leaf wetness after rainfall, dew, or spray. Campbell Scientific Canada offers several surface wetness sensor options.

CAMPBELL SCIENTIFIC LTD.
United Kingdom

sales@campbellsci.co.uk

Campbell Scientific offers the 237 and 237F wetness sensing grids. The sensor is designed to emulate the size and surface of a leaf and works by measuring changes in the electrical resistance between the interlacing gold-plated fingers on the circuit board. Capable of detecting rainfall, dew or spray the sensor connects to any suitable data logger.

The 237F is a flexible sensor of similar design but which is designed for attaching to uneven surfaces or plant stems.

Delta-T Devices Limited
United Kingdom

sales@delta-t.co.uk

Delta-T devices can offer a Surface Wetness Sensor for the detection of dew or rain which comes complete with ground spike and 2m standard cable length.

This forms part of an extensive list of equipment for environmental and meteorological monitoring.

ENVIRONMENTAL MEASUREMENTS LTD.
United Kingdom

sales@emltd.net

Environmental Measurements offer three types of surface wetness probes - the SW120R for rain detection, the SW120D dew/condensation probe and the SW120F for frost detection. These are essentially 'On/Off' devices which are switched when signal output goes from 0V to 1V.
LOGOTRONIC GmbH
Austria

sales@logotronic.co.at

Logotronic supplies a big variety of measuring stations. Small ones, stationary or mobile up to synoptic weather stations. The stations are highly scalable to the user requirements due to the modular system architecture. One measuring station for meteorology, hydrology, water quality and soil investigation. Nearly all common sensors can be connected via measuring interface modules. All stations can use telemetry modules for telephone, GSM, radio or Internet data transfer.
Skye Instruments Ltd.
United Kingdom

skyemail@skyeinstruments.com

Skye manufactures a Leaf Wetness/Surface Wetness sensor which can be used with either the Skye DataHog datalogger or those from other manufacturers.
Features are:
  • Designed to detect surface moisture
  • Sensitivity from fine mists to water droplets
  • All units have three types of output to suit most logging and recording equipment
  • Grid heavily gold-plated for corrosion resistance
