WEATHER, INC. United States of America |
AWI provides a broad range of precipitation detectors, from tipping bucket rain gauges to electrically heated rain and snow gauges to present weather sensors. For areas where snow or freezing rain occur, multiple models are available with different funnel sizes. The 6490 Present Weather Sensor optically measures precipitation induced scintillation and applies algorithms to automatically determine precipitation occurrence, type, and rate. The preferred development partner of the FAA, & meeting requirements of ICAO and WMO, AWI’s meteorological sensors are used worldwide. |

Belfort Instrument
company United States of America |
The Universal recording & transmitting precipitation gauge, P/N 5-780, converts the weight of collected precipitation into the equivalent depth of accumulated water in conventional units of inches or millimeters. An 8-inch (20.3cm) diameter, knife-edge orifice collects all forms of precipitation. Rain travels through a funnel into the galvanized weighing bucket. The funnel is removed during the winter season to collect snow. When sub-freezing temperatures are expected, anti-freeze is added to the bucket. |

Casella CEL United Kingdom |
Casella
Tipping Bucket Rain Gauges are reliable and extremely robust devices intended for use as stand-alone sensors operating within an existing logging or data acquisition system. The latest 200cm2 version of Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge is based on the best selling 400cm2 gauge supplied by Casella CEL worldwide and has been specially designed for many applications that now require a gauge with smaller diameter for hydrometric applications. The Casella CEL Rainfall Logging System utilises the Tipping Bucket Rain Gauge with an in-built datalogger. The system enables rainfall data to be recorded and stored in the memory as real-time information. Rain gauge with inner can and collection bottle (measuring jar not included), the Snowdon gauge is a popular, general purpose rain gauge. The collection aperture has an accurately turned bevelled rim to minimise splashing. WMO Commission for Instruments and Methods of Observation No. 727 |

METEK GmbH |
The
Micro Rain Radar (MRR-2) is a vertical pointing Doppler Radar which derives
precipitation parameters in a profile over the system. The radar beam highlights air volumes with precipitation particles along the profile. Detecting the frequency shift due to the movement of the precipitation particles and the backscattered energy from the different heights defines the number of drops per size class and altitude. The MRR-2 enables high quality measurements of precipitation free of influence from wind, sea spray or surroundings. A variety of applications has been established by this new technical approach (vulcano monitors, nowcasting of rain, etc.).The profile measurement allows a calibration with wide scanning weather radars in the same volume. |

Skye
Instruments Ltd. |
The RainHog from Skye Instruments is an easy to use system comprising of an accurate data-logger and raingauge. The datalogger fits neatly into the base of the raingauge, giving a complete raingauge logging system. The logger is set-up via a computer and is easy to download. The raingauge has an aerodynamic design which is durable and corrosion free. Rain is collected in 0.2mm “buckets” which simply run out after being logged, so the RainHog can be left to record automatically for several months if required. The RainHog can also be fitted with a temperature sensor so that both total rainfall and maximum, minimum and average daily temperatures can be recorded. Wilh. Lambrecht GmbH |
Wilh.
LAMBRECHT GmbH creates products for professional use in meteorology and industry. The
production of exceedingly high-quality constructions, e.g. full-metal housings, precise tipping bucket bearings and heating systems is a central issue. Especially
useful in cases of extremely high amounts of precipitation is the weighing
tipping bucket method. Filled up, the 2- or 4-cm3 buckets are emptied automatically. Overflowing is impossible! Another LAMBRECHT specialty is
the only precipitation sensor with heatable collecting
ring - for prompt and exact snow fall measurement. |
