These atmospheric electric field measurements are useful for assessing the local lightning hazard and for thunderstorm research. The CS110 uses a reciprocating shutter instead of the traditional rotating vane field mill - a feature that improves reliability and reduces power consumption. The CS110 can be integrated into an automated weather station to provide a full range of meteorological measurements, data storage, communication, and control.
