Report - HMEI General Assembly at the 88th AMS Annual Meeting, New Orleans, USA, January 2008
HMEI held its 2008 General Assembly of Members at AMS on Tuesday 22 January, 2008 at 9am in Room 232 of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Thirty -seven people attended. Items discussed included the amelioration of the HMEI Member Product Catalogue to include more detailed information on Members' Products and discussions regarding status of the collaboration between HMEI and WMO in making the Catalogue acceptable for endorsement by WMO.

HMEI had a booth at the AMS 86th General Assembly Exhibition. There was also, as usual, a very good turnout of HMEI Members exhibiting at AMS88.

The May 2007 General Assembly Meeting of the HMEI was held in Salle 5 (3rd floor) of the CICG - International Conference Centre Geneva, 7.30 on Wednesday 9 May 2007, during the MeteoHydex at the WMO Congress in Geneva, Switzerland.

The HMEI open Members Meeting at the 87th AMS, San Antonio, USA, January 2007
This was an informal, open HMEI meeting held 8-30am on Wednesday 17th January, 2007. There were breakfast refreshments available for the members and guests attending.

Mr Dieterink, the HMEI Chairman welcomed the 26 attendees to the meeting. He advised the attendees that the next General Assembly of HMEI will be held during the MeteoHydex exhibition in Geneva in May 2007. The meeting was informed that the membership is now 90 members, with 10 new members joining during 2006. The new members who were present were welcomed to HMEI. Mr Dieterink gave information on the work of HMEI over the past year and also of the various projected work for 2007.

The HMEI General Assembly January 2006
HMEI held its 2006 General Assembly at the 86^th AMS, on 9.15am on Tuesday 31^st January 2006 in Room A310, Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. HMEI also had a booth at the AMS 86th General Assembly Exhibition, where the Executive Secretary was in attendance with the latest edition of the HMEI Catalogue on CD available for visitors and with the HMEI website live on line for visitors to the booth to see.

The HMEI General Assembly was featured in a front-page article of the first day's BAM, the daily paper of the AMS Exhibition and Conference.

The HMEI General Assembly 2005, Bucharest, Romania, May 2005
This was held during the CIMO Technical Conference and METEOREX 2005 in Bucharest, Romania in May 2005. The General Assembly was attended by European HMEI members a good number of the members exhibiting at the METEOREX and others attending the TECO conference. The General Assembly saw the new Council and HMEI Chairman and Vice Chairman put in place for the following 4 years. Please click here for the Minutes of the General Assembly meeting.

HMEI at the AMS 85th Annual Meeting in San Diego, January 2005
The Association of HMEI had a strong presence at the 2005 AMS 85th Annual Meeting. This was represented by the HMEI booth in the exhibition hall and the HMEI Open Meeting and the HMEI Member's Meeting both held on the morning of Monday 10th January 2005.

HMEI General Assembly at AMS- 84 in Seattle, USA, January 2004
The January 2004 HMEI General Assembly in Seattle, USA, was highly successful. The meeting was well attended and included members, non-member company representatives and guests from WMO, AMS, NOAA, the UK Met Office and all HMEI Council Members. The new Secretary General of the WMO, M. Jarraud, gave an introductory speech, which emphasized the importance of the cooperation between the WMO and HMEI.
