 THE HMEI EQUIPMENT CATALOGUE 
 The HMEI Manufacturers Equipment Catalogue a major benefit which gives all members of HMEI the ability to be easily found according to the different categories of products they produce.

Interested customers and users of meteorological equipment will find it a valuable and comprehensive reference. It is a guide to the best hydro-meteorological equipment and manufacturers worldwide.

As an on-line catalogue it gives customers and users links directly to the manufacturers themselves. No summarizing of products that quickly becomes outdated, this catalogue is updated frequently and is a portal to the most up-to-date information direct from the manufactures themselves.
AN INTERNATIONAL VOICE FOR ALL MEMBER COMPANIES
The HMEI seeks to create a representation of experts from across the range of companies in HMEI, both in terms of size and regions. In this way a true representation of the HMEI membership will be possible at all international events, meeting and so forth.

WMO Expert Teams.
The Commission for Instruments and Methods of Observation (CIMO), within WMO, has requested the HMEI to nominate industry experts who would be willing to participate in meetings of CIMO expert teams. For further details on this please click here to go to our Activities page.

 The HMEI is currently represented by eight member companies on nine CIMO Expert Teams. However to ensure an equitable representation of the membership, HMEI is calling for all members to consider nominating personnel to participate at the Expert Team Meetings relevant to their areas of interest.

 Observer Status at all WMO Meetings
WMO has granted HMEI Observer Status, which means that not only can HMEI be part of the Expert Team meetings as noted above, it also has the right to attend WMO Executive Councils and WMO Congresses. HMEI can present papers and comment on proceedings at the meetings. HMEI represented its membership in the 56th and 57th WMO Executive Councils in 2004 and 2005, creating opportunities for further cooperation with the WMO and its member countries of benefit to its membership. WMO is looking for a stronger interaction with the private sector and HMEI will be there to be the "umbrella" Association which can represent the private sector.
EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR HMEI MEMBER COMPANIES
The HMEI aims to ensure that international opportunities are available to all manufacturers who belong to HMEI and thus expand the international hydro-meteorological perception as to who can provide hydro-meteorological products and services.

 The HMEI believes that smaller and local manufacturers can often provide as good and more cost efficient products as the larger manufacturers, provided these companies have a way for their services to be know.

WMO Procurement Opportunities for HMEI Member Companies.
The WMO provides HMEI with information on procurement opportunities which are immediately passed on to members. HMEI members are thus aware of these opportunities well ahead of time, giving them an advantage when tendering.
HMEI COMMUNICATIONS
The HMEI aims to keep its members updated with relevant, current information. To this end HMEI regularly updates its website. HMEI also produces a  bi-monthly newsletter, which contains the latest information, relevant to its membership.

 Members receive the HMEI bi-monthly newsletter direct.
In order to ensure that members do not miss the current newsletter, HMEI emails the newsletter directly to its members, ahead of its publication on the website. The news letter is subsequently posted on the HMEI website with other website updates.
