About Us

The HMEI member companies come from all parts of the world:- Asia, America, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. The companies are of very varied sizes, from some of the world's largest in this industry to some of the smallest.

From whatever region and of whatever size all the HMEI companies share the desire to maximize opportunities for their industry as a whole and have shown a commitment, by joining HMEI, to increasing both the world's knowledge of the Hydro-Meteo industry and the quality of products produced for the industry.

HMEI membership is eligible to any company developing, marketing and/or selling hydrological and/or meteorological hardware, software, systems, and/or providing related support services.

The association holds a general assembly, usually each year, which is organized to coincide with a major international industry equipment exhibition. Also the association has, as one of its main activities, the objective of organizing and promoting meetings, conferences and seminars for the furtherance of meteorological and hydrological instruments and measurements and related equipment issues.

Membership in this association provides an opportunity for hydro-meteorological instruments and systems manufacturers, no matter what their size, to have an input into their targeted field and to influence the perceived needs of the hydro-meteorological industries on a global scale. By promoting and influencing standards, which will then be easily and globally available to all members, the association can help to ensure a level playing field for manufacturers at all levels and in all relevant hydro-meteorological related area

By joining the HMEI, each member can benefit from and contribute to, knowledge gathered worldwide. Each individual member will contribute to the power of the industry’s voice at the WMO and around the world.

The HMEI also ensures that international opportunities are available to all manufacturers who belong to HMEI, thus expanding the international hydro-meteorological perception as to who can provide hydro-meteorological products and services.
